BREAKING: Election denying ex-county clerk sentenced to 9 years for tampering with election equipment
Former Colorado county clerk Tina Peters, an election denier who promoted 2020 election conspiracy theories, was sentenced to nine years behind bars for charges in connection with a security breach of Mesa County’s voting system.
Peters was convicted of felony and misdemeanor charges for using another person's security badge to allow someone associated with MyPillow founder Mike Lindell, an ally of former President Donald Trump, access to county election equipment. Later, passwords for the machines and other data were posted online.
