Well, De,
I don't remember eating any purple sweet potatoes . . . But GirlFriend says they taste just like the yellow ones.

Of course, she also thinks these 'Elephant Ears' she calls 'Gabi' are vegetables . . . When she's done cooking down the leaves they look like collards - but they do NOT taste like collards.

(For the curious.)
(Taro might be another name for Gabi.)

Thanks for all that info! How were the ones your girlfriend grew? Do they taste like regular sweet potatoes?

I was reading that sweet potatoes can be grown in New Hampshire. However, they require far more time than they do in warmer climes. Only in the best of years do we have 180 growing days, and that's apparently what they take in our state.

Perhaps I could grow a few indoors in pots for their first couple of months, thereby starting them in March and giving myself a longer growing season.
