I'll stop there. The benefits to quality of life and lifespan are well documented. IMO, humanity is on the cusp of immortality through technological breakthroughs. It sure would be a shame to be so close and let the lack of willpower prevent me from getting there.

So far, by the way, Mrs. De is with me on this. But either of us may quit at any time, and probably will. No shame in that. The shame is in not trying.

No, not fat - though I wouldn't mind losing weight until I reach the medically ideal weight for a 5' 10" man: 140 lbs.

But, as I previously wrote, the benefits of such a regimen are stunning. (If you want to read the New England Journal of Medicine article, let me know. I've already scanned and distributed it, so it's no extra work for me.) I probably won't continue every other day fasting for long - though it sure would be neat to do it for a month! I'll quit when either my will power or health take a downturn.
