Re: “That sunshine in number 3 make it stand out. Blue skies, I think, would only make it better.”
I live on the side of a bowl of hills. There are two breaks in the bowl, but I can only see one. Fortunately, it's to the west - giving me great sunsets and a 4,000-foot mountain to ogle. Clouds and hill colors are what provide the variety - so I like clouds! It's amazing how many colors they produce. Greys, whites, yellows, oranges, reds - I get 'em all, sometimes simultaneously.

Have you ever been in a ravine as the sun went down? If so, you've probably noticed that it gets dark early. That's the case here. I probably lose half an hour of light because of the hills. But I gain unusual colors. The sky takes on a different hue at sunrise and sunset than I've seen in other parts of the country. I attribute it to the hills. I don't know what else it could be.

My wife is probably getting tired of my yelling to her to come out and bring her camera / phone. But I don't ever get tired of the sky. There are times when a beautiful shot comes and goes in less than a minute. Very often, the camera just won't do a good job of capturing it, but I always try. You probably saw that sort of thing at the Grand Canyon. You might gasp at what you see, but when you later see the photographs, they don't compare. That's the case here. I take a hundred photos for every one I really like.

That sunshine in number 3 make it stand out. Blue skies, I think, would only make it better.
