As you know already yesterday was our 50th wedding anniversary and we were going to go someplace special for a formal dinner and afterward spend some time together quietly and re-visiting some places where we came to love each other in the beginning of our lives together.
She was a very SHY individual and to some extent still is today. We met , or rather I saw her at a place we both worked at right out of high school. I was absolutely struck by her and after a few months finally got up enough nerve to ask her if she would like to go on a date with me.
I was stunned when she said yes.
I was attending college at night so I did not have a lot of free time so I had to give up an evening of study to go out with this person whom I could not get out of my head and thoughts.
So we went to a Reds game when they were still the big Red machine and afterward stopped to eat before taking her home and spending some tie meeting her parents and her three older sisters..
We married about about a year later at the Church her family attended and her father helped to found which is still growing today and thriving. Her dad's brother and aunt still attend that church today.
Three years after we wed we had our first child, my oldest daughter who teaches advance college credit only Biological science classes at a large High School where she is the senior and head of the science department and has a Doctorate degree in Biology. University of Cincinnati has certified her to teach courses for college tuition credits to that University. Our younger daughter by two years is our Attorney who resides in Virginia Beach with her family and she is the corporate Attorney for a large Software Security corporation and does a lot of traveling all over the U.S. and Europe with the President of the Corporation.
We have two grandsons with her and her husband.
I do not know whether I will be around for our 60th in ten years but the odds are against it with my heart condition. Most men on average do not live that long and five years is the norm.. There are some who make it longer but most only make it 5 years.
SO I am happy to celebrate our Golden Anniversary with my beautiful wife who is still as pretty today as she was when I first saw her.
