Unless someone has well hidden secrets we don't know about,
there are still 50 states under one flag and are stronger as a nation for that very reason.
THAT particular war is over and was needless. A lot of lost lives. Nobody wins in wars. People on both sides are maimed beyond recognition and repair. Families are suddenly not families anymore because their daddy is not ever coming home.
I am not a fan of war or of wars though I fought in one.
I am too old to do the things a current Marine could do and should do. But I can still fire my weapons accurately.
Most of us are like that. We are a deterring non-active force that our enemies are well aware the size of our strength includes all the warriors from earlier and retired.
Hope I do not live to see that day.
Enough of the silly Civil War stuff. It was a huge mistake to ever have occurred on BOTH sides of the Mason Dixon line imo...
