I've been meaning to get back to you on this, but my computer has been malfunctioning. Yes, I've been posting to others, but right about the time I saw your post, everything on it went berserk at once: the microphone, the sound, the SD Card reader, etc., and it's taken until now to get them straightened out.

What I wanted to tell you is that it's not like a Marine to quit, and that's what it sounds like you're doing. I hope you reconsider.

A transplanted heart lasts 12 years on average. If you qualified to receive one, I expect you would put it to full use. And you have as much right to 12 additional years as anybody else.

What about your wife, kids and grandkids? Don't they deserve to get you well again?

Let your doctor decide if you're eligible for a heart. If he says yes, try to get one. You owe yourself and everyone who cares about you that much. The answer might be "no," but if that's the case, at least you'll have given the good fight. That's what I expect of a warrior like you.

BTW, in 12 years, I am certain that they will have a permanent cure for bad hearts. Probably for a lot of other diseases too, but certainly the heart. When AI becomes more intelligent than humans, it will quickly solve many of humanity's intractable problems. It might cause some new ones, too - but medically, good things are on the horizon. Do what you can to stick around!

Hi De!

I have not. I would suspect that those valuable perfectly good hearts could and should be used for people with more years ahead of them if the Lord permits.

As the Apostle Paul said " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

2 Timothy 4:7,8

This is where my mindset is at.
