But there is a thing called 'Linux'. It works a lot like Windoze but it isn't. Once on the Internet there is a button one can push which brings up this software library where a LOT of different games and utility programs and educational programs can be downloaded free.
Linux also has 'Open Office' which has programs which do most of what miscrosnot office does.
Backup and Restore programs that work so well under Windoze do not work at all under Linux.
And, last time I was looking at it, One needed to find the appropriate backup program for the particular flavor and variant of Linux being ran.

Lastly, I would recommend downloading a disk image, burning it to a disk. Then swapping out the hard drive for a new one before installing - to the new drive.
I have a program called Windows 7 games for windows 10. It's 6 or 7 games and ya don't have to sign up or join anything. Ya don't have to become a "Gamer". Ya don't have to have a login or password. It's something for a cantankerous old fart like myself to do while listening to mz ribit's hairdryer blow until the electric company calls and begs for mercy. This program disappears a couple of times a year. Had an old WWII fighter pilot game which disappeared and would not work when it was reinstalled. Windows is a clussterfuzzle. I wonder if it would be much improvement to get Apple?
