ZIM

this is a great suggestion. I do have a BACKUP hard drive with the whole of the current drive on it.

I will wait on this awhile.

Windows 10 is on my HP laptop. It's okay. I like 7 pro a whole lot better. Decisions, decisions....

Not me.

I would suggest backing up your entire windows 7 Before upgrading to 10. (AOMEI works well for that. Along with a high capacity external drive.)

Personally I would also buy a new internal drive (or two). Use AOMEI to clone the existing win-7 to a new disk (and test that it boots and works OK.) Then either install a new blank disk to install win-10 on or install win-10 on the cloned Win-7 disk. (Saving the original Win-7 hard drive just in case.)

I also prefer to have the Operating System (Win-7) on a separate hard drive. (SSD - 100 Gig's.) A much smaller hard drive and having a large capacity hard drive for data storage.

Hmmm. I just checked. I have three drives on this machine. 'C' is actually a 500 Gig SSD with two partitions. Disk 1 is a two terabyte drive with three partitions. And Disk2 is a One Terabyte drive with two partitions.

Most of the things I do with data are on Disk 2.

Zim.
