Or put another way, Trump's own character is spreading through the upper reaches of the federal government.

We have malignancy, incompetence, narcissism and lunacy in every direction. A cast of fundamentalists, clowns and bullies.

The majority of US voters wanted this. And they've got it. There will be no sympathy for those who will say, but I didn't see this coming. Yep. It was clear from his speeches and posts. Yall demanded it.

The question isn't whether Trump will damage the US. It's whether there will be any kind of functional country left amid the wreckage.

Turned out the flaw in US democracy wasn't just the candidate. It was You the People. The majority, anyway. There are no guardrails here. Not the sane members of his administration (show us one). Not the house. Not SCOTUS. And certainly not the senate. Only possibility is the generals if Trump demands that they become the instrument of domestic repression.

Or put another way, Republican senators are setting up collapsible barricades against Trump's nominations. When he doesn't change his mind, and presents one lunatic after another to run the different departments, the barriers will fold immediately as if they were never there.
