johnny maga (@_johnnymaga) ~ 🚨 The Dems are eating themselves alive:
CNN Reporter: “People look at the performance of Congress and say ‘Why should we give them more money?’â€
Senator Durbin: “What about the media?… Half of your listeners are not there anymore and you’re still getting the same paycheck.â€

Of course, Dickhead Durbin continues to be dead wrong about everything else ... like Congress critters needing a pay raise.
Paul A. Szypula (@Bubblebathgirl) ~ Dick Durbin says it’s a good thing there’s a pay raise for Congress in the spending bill. Congress has less than 22% approval. They should get a pay cut.
The vast majority of Representatives and Senators enrich themselves by becoming public "servants" and they receive VERY generous benefits, as well. I know that Brandon said something very recently about promoting a new policy that would ban stock trading by Congress critters, but I have a much better alternative. Every new, incoming Representative and Senator should have their family's estate currently valued. When they retire from Congress, their family's holdings should be currently valued, again. Any amount of the total value at departure that exceeds the corpus (original valuation at entry to Congress) plus an annual increase on that corpus of, let's say for grins, 7% for every year they are in Congress should be forfeit and immediately turned over to the U.S. Treasury. Of course, you would have to anticipate one-off additions to the corpus - such as a family inheritance. Public service should be SERVICE, not enrichment from using these positions of power. If they don't like these rules, then don't run for Congress or limit the number of terms served.
