Great Headline ... BUT let us be honest when repeating the true finding of the study.

.. found that there is no clear trend in most basins, but a significant decrease in power dissipation index has been detected in the South Indian Ocean basin since 1994,

So, YES, it is true that the hysterical cries about worldwide increasing storm freq and strength are proven to be baseless by this study.

The decrease, however, is ONLY in the South Indian Ocean - the rest have 'no clear trend' ie. neither stronger nor weaker.

Good ammo to have - just fire accurately.

Another Myth Busted: Latest Report Reveals 30 Year Drop in Hurricane Frequency and Power

A new study found that there has been a 30-year drop in hurricane frequency and power.

This is a major blow to the junk scientists pushing to ban fossil fuels.

For years, the radical left and willing RINOs assured the public that hurricanes and tornadoes are worse today than ever thanks to manmade global warming.

Here is a recent list of the top hurricanes by force that made landfall in Florida.

Notice that only three of the top 10 hurricanes made landfall in the last 30 years.

A new report published in Nature in December found a 30-year drop in cyclone (hurricane) frequency and power.

Nature reported:Tropical cyclone activity often leads to many adverse impacts and assessing their destructiveness is a crucial scientific concern.

Here we investigated changes in the destructiveness of tropical cyclones worldwide using the power dissipation index and found that there is no clear trend in most basins, but a significant decrease in power dissipation index has been detected in the South Indian Ocean basin since 1994, which is almost entirely due to a decrease in both tropical cyclone frequency and duration in this basin.

The decrease in tropical cyclone frequency is influenced by increased atmospheric stability.

The decrease in tropical cyclone duration can be attributed to the changes in tropical cyclone locations.

In addition, the weakened subtropical high is only observed in the South Indian Ocean (i.e., the Mascarene High), which is also associated with the decrease in tropical cyclone destructiveness. These findings have implications for assessing the destructive potential of future tropical cyclones.
Sadly, this won’t stop the carnival barkers like Al Gore from screaming nonsense in public.
