Hi De,
yeah, it was a lot of work. Obviously I had to get building permits and submit an engineering drawing.
I designed this home initially with the thought of reaching retirement and being empty nesters but realized holidays would bring all the family together. My baby girl moved to Zim's neck of the woods so that made things less crowded but we understand. Its a hassle to be 500 miles away and have to drive that to be home. I get it.
Now they come home once in awhile but fly.
SO we use the empty bedrooms as my office and a guest room for my wife's sister who usually spends holidays with us to be with her family. Her other sister and brother live close by.
Gotta tell ya that this other sister is the oldest and is the remaining identical twin. Bonnie passed from cancer about ten years ago. Her husband dies about one year ago. So I am the oldest man in this large family.
I watch out for my widowed sister in law and her sons do a lot for her. She and my wife are very close as well as the other who lives in Cedarville where the University is my granddaughter attends and plays softball.
SO I am thinking attaching the garage to the front of the former garage and overlapping in the side yard.
