Medina and Mecca are both in Saudi Arabia. In 2019, Saudi Arabia had 0.83 murders per 100,000 people (according to the United Nations.) In 2022, the United States had 7.5 murders per 100,000 people. That's nine times as many.

Not true in the least. Two of the most dangerous places in the world are Mecca and Medina - forbidden to infidels - so ONLY muslims are allowed. A former muslim (indeed once a member of Hezbollah) told me that, even as a muslim, he wouldn't even consider going to either place during Ramadan (their so-called holiest of holy-days) because of the danger that would put his wife and daughters in.
