A good bit of sleuthing! I relied on my Amazon Echo ("Alexa: When did Oliver Wendell Holmes live?") and it only said 1809 to 1894. It made no mention of a son or that he was Oliver Wendell Holmes SENIOR, so it didn't occur to me that I ought to look further.
