Who Won at the DNC Elections? The Republican Party

The dust has barely settled from this weekend’s Democratic National Committee (DNC) elections at the party’s Winter Meeting, but one thing is abundantly clear: the results couldn't have been better for the GOP.

For starters, Ken Martin, the straight and white leader of the Minnesota DFL Party, was elected as the new DNC chairman. Upon his victory, Martin proclaimed, “We have one team, one team, the Democratic Party. The fight is for our values. The fight is for working people. The fight right now is against Donald Trump and the billionaires who bought this country.”

George Soros couldn’t be reached for comment.

We’ve been reporting for a while that there have been divisions in the party over whether to reinvent themselves or double down on stupid (those are my words), and well, the DNC Winter Meeting proved they are doubling down on stupid.

Under Martin’s leadership, there’s no doubt we can expect the same old narratives from the Democratic Party that knocked them out of power in the first place. As PJ Media’s Robert Spencer pointed out Saturday, Martin is likely to continue pushing the narrative that Trump is a “threat to democracy” despite the fact the voters clearly didn’t buy that steaming pile of garbage rhetoric before.

Make no mistake about it, Martin is going to be the leader the radical left wants. Martin previously called for Trump to be “immediately impeached and then put on trial for treason" over a false claim that Russia was paying bounties to the Taliban for killing American soldiers. Why would that have justified impeachment and being tried for treason, you ask? Because, according to Martin, Trump was in cahoots with Russia! They helped him steal the 2016 election, after all. So, yeah, the DNC elected a man who wanted Trump impeached and tried for treason based on a false story and justified it based on a debunked hoax.

But Martin’s election was hardly the only thing that bodes terribly for Democrats.

Candidate speeches appeared to be overwhelmingly dominated by themes of race, gender, and sexuality rather than the pressing issues facing the American public.

One classic moment was when outgoing chair Jaime Harrison stumbled through an explanation of the rules surrounding "gender balance" in their election process. He describes a convoluted system whereby the selection of officers must remain gender-inclusive, even for imaginary genders the DNC chooses to recognize. I went into more detail about it here, and trust me, it’s hilarious… and scary at the same time.

But there was so much more for the GOP to get excited about from the DNC elections. Can you believe the Dems actually elected David Hogg—another white male, by the way—as the party’s vice chair?

Yes, that kid who earned notoriety after the Parkland school shooting back in 2018, whose 15 minutes of fame expired years ago, just won’t go away, and the Democratic Party, in its infinite wisdom, elected him to party leadership. Yet, the mood was optimistic for some reason at DNC HQ—so much so they were seen dancing.

Fox Business Network's Charles Payne humorously quipped, “I'm actually worried. This looks like the scene right before the cult leader starts passing around the Kool-Aid.”

That sounds about right.

We've written a lot about the hows and whys the Democratic Party lost in the 2024 elections, and while it's obvious the party has become too out of touch and too radical, their DNC leadership elections are the latest proof they have zero interest in changing their ways. So, the GOP had a great DNC election, folks. A great one.
