As a combat marine in action and having been under fire with AK 47s and Mortar rounds, it is a scary place to be for anyone with half a sense of self preservation.
In those situations all one can do is try to hug the ground and get out of the field of fire by crawling on yer stomachs.
Usually ya have lots of machine gun fire accompanying the mortar shelling. The nva used AK47's which were automatic anyway.
I have seen Marines under intense fire become less than mobile and have a little rightful fear of wondering if they are going to make it or not. Its a natural thing when you're under intense fire. That said, you still have to keep your head calm and think clearly. Iffen ya don't you is going home in a body bag.
FEAR is the biggest thing to keep under control and the vast majority of females do not possess the same type of emotional control that males do under severe acute stress with fight or flight set in.
ALso, who is going to pick up your brother who is bleeding all over the place and urgently needs a medic to stop that flow and save his life? He mayw ell weigh over 250 pounds with his gear. If he's a big boy it could be more.
The vast majority of females do not possess the strength or emotional stability under intense fire that men can.
There are SOME who can but then we have to look at the physical strength and endurance factors.
So, NO, I am not a huge fan of females into a combat zone having to carry out one of the male warriors who is all shot up and can't walk. I think t hey can do other things and even fire a weapon but picking up a wounded brother and carrying him out under fire is seriously questionable at best.
That's my take. Ribit's may vary...
