...USAID created in 1961 by Executive Order John F. Kennedy. There is no congressional control or oversight. The wheels came off.

These liberals need to chill. Donald Trump is a good and fair person. They can relax in the assurance that he won't do anything to them that they weren't trying to do to him, his family and his supporters. Nothing over which to lose sleep.

'This Is a Constitutional Crisis!' Chris Murphy Sounds the Alarm On Musk And Trump's USAID Shutdown Skirting Congress

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) joined some of his fellow Congressional Democrats on Monday in entering USAID headquarters in Washington, D.C. to better understand the steps Elon Musk had taken to unilaterally shutter the agency.

Murphy, along with several other members of Congress, spoke outside the building and said, “We will use every power that we have at our disposal in the United States Senate. My colleagues will do the same thing in the House.”

“This is a constitutional crisis that we are in today. Let’s call it what it is!” he added to applause from the crowd that had gathered. He continued:
The people get to decide how we defend the United States of America. The people get to decide how their taxpayer money is spent. Elon Musk does not get to decide. We are weaker today than we were yesterday. China sees that. Russia sees that and they will take advantage. Our job and your job together is to raise our voices, raise the alarm so that this crisis emboldening our enemies doesn’t last a second longer than it has to. Thank you, everybody.
Musk over the weekend, took steps to shut down USAID, a decades-old humanitarian aid agency that was created by federal law and is funded by Congress.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) also spoke and said, “So we can hear firsthand from whoever is here at USAID or at least witness firsthand what is happening with this Elon Musk attempted takeover which will not stand. We will prevail. Let’s go.”

Van Hollen and his fellow Democrats were barred entry into the building. He later spoke to reporters and laid out further steps they were planning to take against Musk’s moves, including filing lawsuits and blocking Trump’s nominees.
