All silver dollars are worth at least a few bucks more than melt. At auction, I usually see them going for between 2 and 10 dollars above spot depending on year, condition and the aggressiveness of the bidding. If they're rare or the buyers are dumb, they can go for more, of course.

That would be fine with me. I just finished the general cataloging of the silver I inherited when Dad died last May that my sister and I split up over Christmas. It’s mostly divided between contemporary coins and Morgan and Peace. Only a few that are probably worth over melt, but I pulled them out. Then there's the silver-era smaller coins. The gold coins that are worth more than all the silver, but it’s fun to sift through the silver. Taking it to a new safe deposit box today. Now to hit the pennies, three cents, nickels, dimes, and all the rest.
