Kansas City beat up two not very good football teams to get to the super bowl and then met a real team of good players.
The Eagles wasted no time in demonstrating superiority and controlling the lines of scrimmage and defensive prowess.
They did not allow the Chiefs wideouts to roam freely without a defender on them. Mahomes was running for his life most of the night.
In the end, they looked like an average football team playing against professionals. No name professionals with the exception of Barkley.
Jalen Hurts is a quality QB. I liked him when he played for Nick Saban and he is even better now.
SO, why did The Chiefs look so bad against the Eagles when they appeared so unstoppable on the road to the Super Bowl?
THE COMPETITION.
The Bills looked like school kids against them.
Thatgame was pathetic. And the Vaunted Ravens? Well, if ya can keep their QB contained and someone assigned to him, you can shut down their offense.
Lamar is most definitely a formiddable QB but he can't do everything all alone.
AND they play against lesser talent than the Eagles do in the regular season.
Not that any of this matters now. The Eagles showed up to play and they demonstrated clearly they owned the lines of scrimmage and they did not win by luck..
They are definitely a get down and dirty old fashioned line of scrimmage battleing team. They aren't full of trick plays. They just go out and beat you physically all game long. That wears on you if you are on the other side.. I played big school football in Ohio for a team that won TWO state titles of BIG SCHOOL division. The games is usually won at the line.. That controls everything..
Philadelphia is my kinda team. Bruisers Inc.
I am happy for for the fans of Philadelphia and their players. They worked hard all season and it showed in this game.. IMO, this game was not really a contest.
The difference showed immediately at the LINE.
Amazing how this team pounded the Chiefs from the beginning until the end.
All the discussion about Mahomes cementing hall of fame stats was a little premature imo.
He is a good QB. Is he the heads and shoulders above all the others? Not from where I sit. I'll take Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson over him 7 days a week.
When the opponent takes away his security blanket he isn't the hall of fame person the press keeps talking about. In fact, he looked less than average last night...
So, I will reserve judgment about Mahomes and the HOF until later.
Meantime, Congrats to Philadelphia for a working man's job well done and a Super Bowl RING to show for it.
Great job by Jalen Hurts, an SEC product from Alabama.
He was great there and he is great now..
