All I can say is that in winter out here, when the clouds go away, grab your coat. Just look at our forecast. The 18th is both the sunniest and coldest day. That's typical.

The issue may be that cloudless days tend to come with cloudless NIGHTS.

Unless one is up in the arctic. In which case the clouds tend to trap what heat there is. At least that is my un-professional opinion from the glorious 18 months I spent up there once upon a time.
