For some reason I was thinking that N. Korea had one or two 'fizzled'. As in detonated but did not have the expected yield.

But, 'Mutual Assured Destruction' ( M.A.D. ) seems to be a BIG factor in the fact that nukes have not yet been thrown.

And, can Putin be certain that our Anti-Ballistic-Missile systems won't work good enough?

Russia's old nukes might be bad after all this time, but its scientists know how to make new ones on a par with our best. It has nuclear power plants, after all. Refining enough fissionable material would be relatively easy.

In any case, your suspicion would be a helluva thing to gamble humanity's continued existence on.
