Ecclesiastes 12: 13
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecclesiastes 12: 14
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Solomon was recognized as the wisest man that ever lived. He was because he remembered from whence he received it and glorified the ONE whom he went to at his death.
As it is appointed unto every man once to die and after that The Judgment, it behooves each of us to live with an eye on the fact that every word we say is recorded and kept in your records in Heaven.
Every thought as well. And one day those things will be played back for US. To our shame mostly.
It is God the Holy Spirit who reveals to our inward man (soul) what the meaning and intent of the words of God are to us.
If we prayerfully study the written and preserved WORDS from the scribes and rabbis we shall know what those were and ask the Spirit to open our hearts to their meanings for US.
The verses I supplied above tell you what the whole duty of man really is..
If we live our lives with that duty in mind, our rewards in Heaven will be great.
