Russia today is not the old USSR. However, Putin was a 'swamp creature' from the old USSR who would like to re-constitute the old USSR into a new Russian Empire.

In 2022 Russia tried to eat all of UKraine . . . and received a bad case of indigestion.
I'd like a good answer to the question "Is there a way for Ukraine to so punish Russia that Putin and Russia will collectively decide that stealing other countries real estate is a bad idea?"
If they believe Russia is the old Soviet Union. They should also believe Ukraine is old Soviet Union. Then we should treat the war as a civil war and not be involved in it at all.
