McDonald's Arrest: Suspicious Homeless Man Caught With Ghost Gun In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A man with an active arrest warrant was taken into custody at a McDonald's in Dutchess County, where police say they found him carrying a loaded ghost gun, high-capacity magazines, and knives.

When officers arrived, they found 37-year-old Theodore T. Lutz Jr., a homeless man, and began questioning him, police said.

During the conversation, police learned that Lutz had an active warrant issued by Dutchess County Family Court. Officers also noticed what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband, according to the department.

As officers attempted to arrest him, police said Lutz resisted and engaged in a brief physical struggle before being subdued and taken into custody. No officers were injured in the incident.

A search of Lutz revealed a black and gold Polymer 9mm ghost gun, which was loaded with a 15-round magazine and a bullet in the chamber. Additional items recovered included another loaded 15-round magazine; two loaded 30-round magazines; two fixed-blade knives; a ski mask; and a bandanna, according to authorities.

Lutz was charged with:

Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon;
Second-degree obstruction of governmental administration;
Resisting arrest.
He was arraigned in Hyde Park Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $50,000 cash bail, $100,000 bond, or $250,000 partially secured bond.
