...I have a copy of the McGuffey reader that belonged to my mother when she was in the sixth grade. There are a lot of high school seniors these days who couldn't handle it. Not all of them, but a significant number of them. I think our top notch kids are as good as any but the bottom half all the cheese done slid off their cracker.
