Will have to delve back into what Nelson and bro actually did ... but at the time it happened, my conclusion was that the Hunt's had not really done anything illegal AT ALL - they had simply made the mistake of underestimating the power of those whom owned the toes they were stepping on. IOW - they pissed off the wrong people - like LBJ's friends.

The BOE case with Soros - again, nothing in that Infopedia analysis showed anything at all was done illegally - just stepped on some very big toes. Anyone with deep enough pockets can short 'a thing' into oblivion. The danger of that is what can happen when even deeper pockets counter with a 'short squeeze' which will leave the shorter a pauper.

Re: “You mean like this?”
Yup. I was thinking of Soros at the time. Also every Congressman guilty of insider trading, every Big Pharma executive involved in the creation and sale of poorly-tested Covid-vaccines, every Tech Titan who betrayed his early partners in order to gain outright ownership of a social network or who manipulated elections by leveraging his company's ability to influence customers with lies and half-truths.
