Re: “I know it’s hard to spend a hundred bucks or so every fifteen years, but that’s the price we must pay these capitalist inventor pigs”It's a bit worse than that for me. I have 121 customized code templates - some of of which are 2/3 of a page long - in Dragon. I would be beyond frustrated if I lost them. Office 2007 includes Access. I spent a month learning it and writing a database to manage my media. I spent over a year entering some 17,000 items into it. It was such a big effort that I bought three identical computers and configured them identically with Office and the book database, only to box them up again for when they're needed one day to replace my current computer. I refuse to cave to Microsoft - which would certainly kill my copy of Office and therefore destroy my database - and will never put those three machines onto the internet again for that very reason.

I used that Win 7 emulator for some stuff for quite a while. I wouldn't be surprised if it's gone in 11, not sure. 10 to 11 is much more incremental than 7 to 10, superficially.

Most programs I use have native language capabilities far superior to my last experiences with Dragon Naturally Speaking. Office has left 2007 far behind. Even the current Excel and Word extensions probably aren’t compatible. I know it’s hard to spend a hundred bucks or so every fifteen years, but that’s the price we must pay these capitalist inventor pigs until we can implement this whole socialist thing properly.
