Last time I checked . . . (and correct me if I'm wrong) . . . microsoft office went to a 'Lease' plan. And I'm assuming one would have to 'RE-PAY' for it every year. No thanks.

There is that 'Open Office' (Libre-office?) which seems to do most of what microsnot-orifice does. . . No Access in it. . . . And back when I was working I found it would open word and excel documents with no problems.

Libre-Office is available for Windoze.

I used that Win 7 emulator for some stuff for quite a while. I wouldn't be surprised if it's gone in 11, not sure. 10 to 11 is much more incremental than 7 to 10, superficially.

Most programs I use have native language capabilities far superior to my last experiences with Dragon Naturally Speaking. Office has left 2007 far behind. Even the current Excel and Word extensions probably aren’t compatible. I know it’s hard to spend a hundred bucks or so every fifteen years, but that’s the price we must pay these capitalist inventor pigs until we can implement this whole socialist thing properly.
