An interesting, if depressing, view. You'd have it that Windows ME was progress over Windows '98. That Bush was progress over Reagan. Indeed, that Hitler was progress over von Hindenburg. I think I know now why libtards so gladly embrace the word.

I would take what you've said and add "Progress and entropy are not the same thing." Indeed, there's this:

progress (2): Development, advancement, or improvement, as toward a goal.

Now we're seeing that progress and improvement ARE the same thing, provided that there is a goal. And maybe that's the problem - the general aimlessness of what Microsoft has been doing... change for the sake of change... progress by the FIRST definition only.

In any case, progress for Microsoft is not progress for Decomposed, and I do not approve of what Microsoft has been trying to do to me. (Investments aside. I'm a little - but only a little - embarrassed at being a longterm MSFT investor.)
