Re: “Never seen so much hyperbole used to convey so little real information about topographical conductors.”
Topological conductors. Yup, you're right. The details are few. In my experience, that's how it always is when new technologies are announced years before anything marketable will emerge. I've seen countless articles like this about groundbreaking new drugs - which won't get to market for ten years. That doesn't make the news any less exciting, but it does mean that you shouldn't hold your breath waiting on them. (I'm STILL waiting on the announcement of synthetic meat flavor, with the potential to make anything taste like meat. That was probably 25 years ago. I thought it was pretty cool at the time.)

The point of the article, I think, is that Microsoft appears to be the first company with a single-qubit topological conductor that could solve the perplexing problem of putting a million qubits onto one chip. If it really does, then some of us will live to see wondrous things from Microsoft in a *relatively* short time. If you have a ten-year outlook, MSFT could be worth taking a chance on.

Never seen so much hyperbole used to convey so little real information about topographical conductors.

Video ... ditto.

Interesting ?

Yes

Informative ?

Not in the least.

Thus - Microsnot's objective achieved. Gotcha interested, but didn't give ya any real information.

From the company that doesn't sell you any software or operating systems. No, they 'sell' you a license to use them only - you don't own anything except a EULA - and you can't transfer it, can't put it in a different toolbox;
and if you don't like it - tough bananas - you opened it, you agreed to ALL their terms.

Kind of like 'you are licensed to use this 10mm box open wrench' only on 2000-2010 Volkswagens, and can never use it on any other type vehicle, nor carry the license to use in any other toolbox other than the original in which it was delivered.
