The first thing that you might notice is that no Teslas appear on the list. Second, only a small number of so-called 'American' brands are actually on the list, although the ones that are are big sellers for, in this case, Ford and Chevrolet.
But what you'll also notice if that all of the models that one would expect the wealthiest Americans to be driving, they're ALL on the list, so I'm sure there might be some blow-back from that, although I can see an underground cottage industry springing-up which could try and circumvent the tariffs. Like importing cars with several critical parts missing which would render them un-driveable, and then once they're here, those few missing parts would be acquired from domestic vendors, perhaps something like windshields or fuel tanks or batteries or headlights, anything which would make the cars illegal or incapable of being driven on the road but which domestic vendors would be capable of supplying.
