Lutnik LIED on CNBC. A 20% VAT in Europe is applied to EVERYTHING not just American cars. It is Europe’s sales tax. Not a tariff on US cars. PERIOD.

Europeans do not buy American cars because they are not competitive, features wise, do not handle as their domestic cars, and some just SUCK! Gas is almost 3 times as expensive as in the US, and their cars have much smaller, efficient engines. American cars CAN’T COMPETE there.

European cars also have that VAT on them. Lying to the American people at this level is almost CRIMINAL!

Anyone who knows anything about Europe and the World will tell you that and MORE.
