And yet you obviously favor having a big government; how do you propose to fund it? Donations only;-?

How does it benefit thinking or decision making to lump all revenue and expenses together, when they are clearly VERY distinct in where they come from and where they go.

These things are vectors, not scalars. So it does matter who they benefit, who they impoverish, who they kill, etc.

...plain old theft is a crime
...embezzlment is a crime

The thing they all have in commone is that they are crimes.

I have always considered taxes to be any time the govt figures out a new way to rob, steal or embezzle money out of their citizens. So, to my little pin headed way of thinking income tax, sales tax, tariffs, fees, fines are all taxes. I like to keep things simple. Keeps me from tossing and turning at night worrying about who we should hang first.
