I believe our society is better served to encourage earnings and savings; therefore, I think income taxes are not the best way to go. I'm a bigger fan of known, straightforward taxation on transactions that citizens have more personal control over - flat rate taxes on consumption.

...taxes are necessary but subdividing them into groups and clumps making em seem like that are something other than the gubmint sticking their hand in your pocket is foolishness.
