...as the price of meat goes up, the rate of tips goes down. That is what is causing the surly attitude of steakhouse workers.

Hyup!

I am not a fan of Olive Garden either and neither is Miz micro..
They really have nothing there that I want to eat. There isn't anything there that miz micro CAN eat as its all mostly carbs except for the salad. I can get salad our of bag that is just as good and add a few croutons and shredded cheese, and salad dressing of my preferred taste.

I will never go into a Longhorn again either. My daughter and sonny boy like to eat there for some unknown reason. Only as a courtesy to mt daughter have I gone there to "celebrate" my grandson's birthday when he turned 21. Haven't been back since.
It's crowded, loud, high priced, less than average quality meats, and poor service.

Texas Roadhouse is better than both but also stays very busy and crowded.

Ya could say I am a party pooper but I just do not enjoy being in extremely crowded restaurants where all the others who came are sitting almost on yer laps and the waiter/waitress is so busy with ten other tables there IS NO service.

Iffen ya ever come to Cincinnati out in the suburbs make reservations at a Jeff Ruby restaurant like The Precinct or another of his steak houses, or Eddie Merlot's.

Your're not sitting with other diners, can enjoy your family or spouse, hear them, talk in privacy, have a great dinner, and a memorable experience. Yes, you're gonna spend between 75-100 dollars, but for fine dining and privacy and exquisite cuisine and yer own waiter its worth the price for a lovely night out.

Just my outlook on the subject. I suspect everyone here can afford a hundred bucks for a nice out with your special person..
