What use is it?

It speaks to the majesty and power of God - that He is holy and very much worthy of our respect and glorifying worship. That He loves us, in spite of all we do to drive Him away, and genuinely desires a loving relationship with each and every one of us shows his generous, caring, and infinitely patient spirit. It is the Good News that we're not lost ... Christ went through Hell for us to bridge the chasm between God and man.

Beldin:

Re: “Ah, but I never said that I do not take the Scriptures literally. I do not literally know everything that transpired, and neither do you - we weren't there. That is where faith comes into play. ”
That's an interesting explanation. Thanks!

The Bible is incomplete. That holds with my longstanding view that Creation, its aftermath and God can't possibly be described in a 1,500 page book written to be absorbed even by people with low I.Q.s. IMO, a hundred million page book couldn't do it.

But, Beldin, even a grossly oversimplified, incomplete book written by a perfect being should be consistent and understandable. Otherwise, of what use is it?
