I'm going to try dieting for 90 days to see if I can drop some pounds and lower my cholesterol... maybe improve my liver function. After 4 days, I've lost two pounds. That's not impressive, but I've been cheating - finishing off a large pot of corned beef&cabbage&potato. It's now gone so maybe the weight loss will accelerate.

The diet amounts to eliminating as much fat, salt, carbs and sugar (carbs) as I can. I bought a bag of sucralose at the store the other day, so eliminating direct uses of sugar (tea and coffee, mostly) will be easy. So far, I've been eating lots of oatmeal, bean burritos and frozen broccoli. I'll be adding minestrone soup and sweet potatoes, neither of which are great for carbs, but oh well. And salad, of course. At the moment we're out of lettuce.

Except for the burritos, I'm not a fan of ANY of this. But for 90 days, I should be able to stick it out. It's easier than fasting.
