Re: “De: 3412.97 -- jumping almost a hundred dollars -- isn't significant enough of a breakout to get your nod?”
Nope. Gold had a hundred dollar day last week. Did you miss that? It was right after I mentioned that hundred dollar days were happening twenty years before.

Back around 2008 - when gold was $900 or so - it had occasional hundred dollar days - sometimes up, sometimes down. Gold is now four times that price. I figure $400 days should occasionally take place. They'd be a harbinger of the end of this secular bull market.

I used to follow a guy who said that secular bull markets always run 10 to 15 years. That's worth remembering. This one started around 2017.
Re: “Any chance of at least a couple months' significant retreat from here?”Of course there is. An excellent chance. But I don't make 2-month calls. A moth can sneeze and totally ruin such predictions.

Have you noticed that silver has not much participated in gold's bull run? Yet silver almost always runs with and outperforms gold... in both directions.

What isn't as obvious is that silver had its own bullish run last year, one which gold didn't run with. So gold had some catching up to do and I think it's done that. IMO, silver is currently the better short-term choice. If you're as jittery about gold as you sound, you could consider flipping from gold to silver. In the long run, though, I don't think silver has the potential gold does. Silver, after all, is an easily found metal. That caps its price at, maybe, $75.

De: 3412.97 -- jumping almost a hundred dollars -- isn't significant enough of a breakout to get your nod? Any chance of at least a couple months' significant retreat from here? Starting to make me nervous.
