Re: “I am looking for some serious debate on the merits.”I don't know how accurate it is, but I'm reading that humans and chimps diverged from a common ancestor 6-8 million years ago, while humans and pigs diverged 80 million years ago. I'm also reading that we are much more closely related to rodents than to pigs.

That said, I understand your author's point - that the breeding only had to happen once. While that would result in a creature 50% chimp and 50% swine, if it was then adopted by the chimps, ITS descendants would be majority chimp, with the visual similarity to swine diluting with time.

But the author doesn't discuss something that occurred to me right away: There may have been species between the two that have gone extinct: Chimps bred with Species A, which bred with Species B, which bred with Species C, which bred with Swine. A, B and C later died off.

That seems more plausible to me (but still mostly implausible) than dramatically different species breeding together successfully.

I'd expect some scientist to test this theory in the lab and for every monstrous concoction he comes up with to be stillborn.
But is a successful breeding possible? I suppose. After all, there's this:

Maybe because I posted the original article on Easter Sunday when many were busy praying.

Anyway, I know this board has many great minds and I am looking for some serious debate on the merits. At the least you guys owe it to yourself to look at the disgusting videos of purported human-pig, and human-cow, and human-sheep hybrids. I'm sure at least a few of us sowed more wild oats when we were young and drunk than we like to admit. Do any of the cross-breeds look a little familiar?

There are some serious scientific questions here, as well. That is why I posted the link at the bottom. Does anyone think Anthony Fauci, or his ilk, woudn't have funded studies such as this in a heartbeat? Most of us were taken in by surprise when the first synthetic viral weapon was finally released. Next time we might not be so lucky! Let us get ahead of the crowd going forward.

Hey, De! Maybe you can extract one or more of those videos and use your magic to host them on the board opening page -- or, at least, in their own articles? Or maybe Beldin would be kind enough to post them on "Hooters"?
