Paul, ok here, although I;m on LI now. Glad you're on high ground and have 4' of extra insurance! How neat there's an indian mound. Do you find arrowheads and such around? Ya need one of those ground penetrating radar systems to see what's under there.

Really is awful, can't imagine what those people are going to do....

Hi lkorrow! Thanks for asking,but luckily I am not affected by this at all as I am a point on the fringe of an old ancient Indian Mound at about 12 feet above sea level and my house is additionally built above the ground on 4 foot brick piers. The lake has risen about 2 feet so far so we are fine right now. The fishing in the lake is another thing. No shrimping or fishing or oysters for us for a long time. I really feel for the people north of us in Tennessee and Mississippi and North Louisiana. So many people don't have flood insurance...don't understand that! Hope all is well with you in the Big Apple! P
