Hi fizzy, just listened to Rand's speech.

I hope you're sitting, take any pointed objects out of your hands, I agree with him.
Besides, I oppose the "Patriot Act", I loathe the "title", its an afront to America.
This is not a new stand for me.

AND, discussion & debate should be REQUIRED BEFORE any vote can be taken.

For the record, another "title" I hated, "War on Terrorism". That's UNwinnable & boogymen BS.

We have a terrible habit of not looking back, with the gift of history, before taking actions, often digging ourselves in deeper. clo

Listening to him reminds me why I used to be proud, rather than ashamed, to be an American citizen & why I used to give even politicians I didn't agree with the benefit of basic respect. Even if you are sure you won't agree with Rand Paul, and would never vote for him, I ask that you LISTEN to him for a few minutes...listen to REASON.

I'd sincerely like to hear from anyone -- Clo? -- what is not to like about the fact that Rand Paul gave this speech. Who could possibly object to open debate before rubber stamping this renewal of suspension of important pieces of the Bill of Rights?

If you aren't sure where you stand on this issue or you aren't conversant enough with the topic to argue convincingly on the topic of PATRIOT Act -- yea or nay -- then I highly suggest you listen to Rand Paul, a powerful orator and historian.
