Developing reports of the fracking spill in Pennsylvania come at a time when the fossil fuel industry is facing intense public scrutiny, as today marks the one-year anniversary of the Gulf oil spill.

WATCH Video Newswatch 16's report on the situation in Pennsylvania:

It has dawned on me that a fortune (or a FORTUNE's fortune) could be made by some well connected individual who loads up on natural gas futures, then starts a rumor that NG fracking will be banned or heavily regulated. If a ban were to actually happen, so much the better (in terms of what it would do to the price of Natural Gas.)

These days, the practice of fracking is *NOT* kindly looked upon by the environmental gods or their political and journalistic henchmen. Such a move therefore strikes me as AT LEAST possible, perhaps even probable.

I'm sorry guys. I don't have any evidence that this is going to happen. It's just that if you view the world through SUSPICIOUS and CYNICAL colored glasses, as I always seem to, you realize that there's money to be made here and powerful people who could easily pull this off. So, why wouldn't one of them do it???

I'm just asking...
