clo,

Your sister the teacher? How awful - I'm so sorry. It's true that she didn't suffer for long, but that's both good AND bad. No chance to make preparations... to tie up the loose ends.

58 is too young - although, more and more, I've come to think that ANY age is too young. Several of my friends and a couple of aunts died in their 50s. One of my college buddies died when he was 30 or so. My sister died in her 20s. Several of my elementary school classmates never made it through childhood. Life is just too short.

Did your sister have any children? This is hardest on them, of course.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Decomp,

My sister Melanie's home is for sale.
The house is in a good location, minutes from White Plains & a quick train ride to the city.

The reason for selling, she became ill on 12/21, had a ministroke, then a full blown stroke the same day in the hospital. A week+ later we learned she had stage 4 cancer. This took time to get lab results, we pulled life support & she was gone on 12/30/2010. She was 58.
She didn't suffer a long illness, but it was a real shock & loss. clo
