The last item that Chris Wallace brought-up with Bachmann was the recent vote in New York allowing same sex marriage. Bachmann replied by saying that that was up to New York and since the 10th Amendment allows states to make their own decisions about stuff like this that she had no problem with what happened in New York. And if other states wanted to follow suit and do something similar, that's why the Founding Fathers implemented the 10th Amendment.

Of course, during a follow-up question, she claimed that while what New York did was Constitutional, that it may not be for long since if she and others like her have anything to say about this that there will soon be a Constitutional Amendment which will define Marriage as being between only a man and women and then all of these currently constitutional state laws will be overridden by the US Constitution, since from her point of view, once it's in the Constitution it will be out of the reach of the states and the courts and that will be the end of it, once and for all.

Chris Wallace Asks Michele Bachmann: 'Are You A Flake?'

by Sam Stein

06/26/11

WASHINGTON -- As Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-Minn) presidential candidacy grows more serious, and as her position in the Iowa polls continues to strengthen, she will, undoubtedly, be asked about some of the more provocative avowals she's made in her past.

Sunday was -– sort of -– one of those moments. While Fox News Chris Wallace didn't press the Minnesota Republican on any specific statement -- whether it be that President Barack Obama was creating a gangster government, that anti-American sentiment existed in Congress, or that NATO air strikes had killed up to 30,000 civilians in Libya -- he did touch on the broader point.

"Are you a flake?" he asked.

Bachmann seemed offended by the line of inquiry. "I think that would be insulting to say something like that because I'm a serious person," she explained. She then went on to tout all the ways in which she was, indeed, serious...

I caught the last few minutes of the interview including when he ask if she were a flake. I have admit she handled the response better than I had expected. And Chris did back-peddle a bit when he immediately explained that that wasn't his term for her, but what others in the media have said about her. He could been a little more aggressive, but considering it was Faux News, it was quite a milestone as it was.
