Thank you for the kind words. Even if I cleaned up what I wrote and made it a little more P.C., I doubt the Wall Street Journal or Fox News would seriously entertain it -- except, perhaps, if they saw an angle to promoting it as another output from the lunatic fringe.
It doesn't take any great leap of intellect to realize that it is ABSURD to conflate those earning as little as $250K with the likes of Soros or management at Goldman Sachs. Indeed, it doesn't take more than a trivial amount of analysis to figure out that you could raise ORDINARY income tax to 80% or more on the wealthy and those at the top of the pyramid really wouldn't care: they don't take their money as ordinary income! Only small business owners, professionals, and dummies take most of their income in a form which is subject to ordinary income tax rates and things such as Medicare and Social Security taxes!
And yet, even those in the "conservative" media and political establishment, who profess to oppose Obama's tax proposals, don't see fit to speak pointedly about this truth. I am guessing that Republican leadership, for example, are only playing politics again. This COULD become a great national debate: WHY are capital gains taxed at only a fraction of the rate of ordinary income? WHY are corporations taxed less than citizens? WHY are we *pretending* that an ordinary income of only $250K is a reasonable threshold for classifying as "wealthy"? WHY do we have an obvious Ponzi scheme for a money supply and allow insiders to get zero percent interest loans while ordinary citizens are bled?
The mainstream insiders -- Democrat and Republican both, for the most part -- are in one large life raft. We are on the Titanic and we are scheduled to be sacrificed for the status quo. I really can't believe this is just blindness on the part of the establishment. I really have to believe, at this point, that it is all according to plan and the plan does not include disturbing the sheeple in the stockyard with graphic details of the shambles. One of the more interesting facts I picked up in my reading about the Third Reich is that, for the most part, those who were ordering the liquidation of the Jews were trying to do it humanely. Most of the leadership really didn't see any reason to treat Jews any worse than any other animal which needed to be slaughtered "for the greater good".
I have come to realize that men are not born to be free. Liberty is a need felt by a small class of people whom nature has endowed with nobler minds than the mass of men. -Napoleon
