Kansas Licenses One Abortion Clinic
One abortion clinic in Kansas managed to meet new strict requirements issued by the state and will remain open, ending speculation that the state could become the only state without a clinic.
The other two providers were unable to meet the new requirements, which specify the size of rooms, the stocking of emergency equipment, and ties to nearby hospitals, among other rules.
Meanwhile in South Dakota, blocked a law from taking effect that would require a woman to seek counseling and wait three days before getting an abortion.
