Social Security is no entitlement — it's earned income

I am so tired of listening to politicians attack Social Security as an entitlement. Social Security is earned income for those of us who have been paying into it all of our lives.
In more than 45 years of work, I have paid about $300,000 into it. If my money had been placed in an account that earned only 1.75 percent, I would have $600,000. If the government had invested my money wisely at 3 percent, I would die with the system owing me money. Social Security is an entitlement only to those who never paid into it. Give me back my money, with interest due, and I will be happy to forgo any checks the government might issue.
Oh wait, you can’t, you stole it to finance other projects. Perhaps taxpaying citizens should bring a class-action suit against the U.S. government for the Ponzi scheme it has perpetrated against us.
