I write this response to another response on the Teabaggers board (you choose). The reason I post it here is that it demonstrates what Obama had and has to deal with, and what some folks actually believe.
"You DEFINITELY forgot. Bush inherited a recession. Bush came into office as 2 bubbles popped(Y2k spending and the internet), Bush inherited a nation that had been targeted with a successful terrorist plot that bought down the World Trade Center and put the nation in chaos."
Wow. The internet bubble was actually popped by Greenspan before Bush took office. THE COUNTRY WAS RUNNING A SURPLUS. Remember that Greenspan said the surplus was BAD....that it was taking too much money our of the private sector, and thus the justification for the Bush tax cuts was born. I remember those great tax cuts. I got fifteen bucks more every other week....utterly insignificant compared to the $4.50 gas I got to pay under Bush.
THEN....get this......BUSH inherited a "nation that had been targeted" by terrorists. He SURE was worried about that, wasn't he? He went on his vacation and didn't give a fiddlers flatulence about the terrorist attack that was pending. BUT....BUSH gets a pass on his tax cuts, on squirting away the surplus, and his being asleep on the job when 9-11 happened.
"The big thing you forgot? He did not spend the next 7+ years making excuses that being President was hard and it was all someone else's fault."
No, he didn't CARE about it being hard because for him it wasn't! He took more vacations than any President in history! Now, far as blame? You ARE kidding, right? How many times Bush or his cronies whined about 9-11 being Clintons' fault, the economy being Clinton's fault, you guys STILL blame Clinton for the mortgage meltdown......oh, and because Clinton believed Saddam had WMDs, who can forget THAT justification for Bush lying to get us into an unnecessary and immoral war? GOOD GOD I don't think I ever heard Bush apologize for ANYTHING, EVER, except for making Oneill Treasury Secretary (and HE was the guy worried about deficits, to whom Cheney said "deficits don't matter" and "to the victor go the spoils"). Hey, tell ya what, please show me something where Bush actually takes the blame for something, I would love to see it.
"As I said, Bush made lots of mistakes, this moronic narrative that he drove a nation that was running on all 8 cylinders in perfect weather and all was well is friggin absurd, as is blaming the mortgage crisis the real reason everything is screwed on him."
Uh.....the economy WAS a lot better before Bush. Remember the whole surplus thing? Bush screwed up by letting Osama get away (funny Obama was able to kill him, eh?), he screwed up in Iraq, he screwed the economy, he screwed us with Medicare Part D, and yes, he screwed us by not reigning in the banks and insurance companies with their CDO gambling halls.
"You guys are in such deep denial regarding the gross results of your vision being implemented that you do nothing but lie, both to yourselves and others."
Yeah. Right. Bush was a disaster, he DID stop a global financial meltdown that HE caused, and now the right-wing want to blame Obama for the mess THEY created. NOW, as we reap the benefits of teabaggery, as the economy falters amid drooling moronism, the very teabaggers that CAUSED the mess, say "NO NO IT WASN'T US IT IS OBAMBA AND HE IS BAD BECAUSE HE NEVER TAKES THE BLAME LIKE WE DON'T!"
It would be sad if it wasn't costing so many people so very much.
Wow.
Bush was the worst President in the history of the US.
