On the drive time today it was mentioned that in virtually 100% of the cable-TV markets that Faux News is included as part of 'Basic Cable' yet in virtually all of these same markets you need to purchase at least the next level of 'service' to get access to MSNBC or CNBC. And along those same lines, I can't recall ever staying in a domestic hotel where Faux News was not available yet more and more it's getting hard to find MSNBC or even CNBC (of course there will be at least 6 or 7 various ESPN channels available so you KNOW the hotel is subscribing to more than just basic cable). I was at one place last year where the ONLY 'news' channel I could get in my room was Faux News. I couldn't get MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, etc. When I complained I was told that they had orders from corporate headquarters to block ALL cable new channels except Faux News. I can't recall the hotel brand, but it's not one I stay at that often, but that's going a bit too far.
It was also mentioned that the tax increase proposed by Obama and the Dems (in addition to eliminating some of the corporate tax loopholes and credits) as part of the their proposals for the debt legislation would have only amounted to an extra $30 per $1000 earned, but ONLY to what was earned ABOVE $250,000, and it would not have gone into effect until the 2013 tax year. And because of this the American people (and this includes everyone making LESS than $250,000) and their 401k's, have lost in the past 10 days a lot more than that would have ever amounted to over the next 10 years or so.
